CMPC GROUP Mentorship
The Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) designation is recognized by the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA) and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) as the highest standard of professional practice in sport and performance psychology. Lisa Hoffart Psychology is now offering group mentorship, which can be used to fulfill part of the mentorship requirements for obtaining the CMPC designation.
CMPC Group Mentorship
The CMPC Group Mentorship program is a structured, interactive mentorship experience designed for individuals working toward the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) designation through the CSPA and AASP. Led by Lisa Hoffart, approved CMPC Mentor, the program provides an opportunity to develop your mental performance consulting skills through case discussion, intervention planning, ethical considerations, professional reflection, and collaborative problem-solving.

This program may be a good fit for individuals who:
-
Are actively working toward CMPC certification
-
Have completed or are completing the required academic preparation
-
Are beginning to accumulate mentored experience
-
Have access to athletes, teams or other appropriate sport populations
-
Want structured opportunities to discuss their developing consulting practice
-
Value collaborative learning and peer discussion
-
Are willing to bring their own cases and experiences into the mentorship environment
Participant Requirements
To get the most from the mentorship experience, participants are expected to:
-
Attend all 10 sessions. Participants should plan to be present and actively engaged for the full two hours of each session.
-
Come prepared. Participants are expected to complete assigned preparation and arrive ready to discuss their work, questions and experiences.
-
Actively participate. This is a collaborative mentorship environment. Participants will be expected to contribute to case discussions, provide thoughtful feedback to peers, ask questions and engage in problem-solving activities.
-
Bring their own consulting experience. Participants are responsible for securing their own athletes, teams, organizations or other appropriate clients for their CMPC mentored experience. The program does not provide a client caseload or placement.
-
Maintain confidentiality. Any cases discussed during the program must be appropriately de-identified. Participants are expected to maintain the confidentiality of other participants and any athletes, teams or organizations discussed within the mentorship group.
-
Practice within scope. Participants remain responsible for working within their own education, training, competence and professional scope. The group mentorship program does not authorize participants to provide services outside their qualifications.
-
Maintain Professional Liability insurance. Proof of insurance is a required component prior to starting the group mentorship program.
-
Complete their broader CMPC requirements. The 20 hours provided through this group mentorship program represent one component of the overall CMPC mentored experience. Participants remain responsible for completing all other applicable AASP/CSPA requirements, including required individual mentorship, direct client-contact hours, support hours and other mentored experience requirements. Participants are responsible for tracking their own mentored experience and confirming that their overall experience meets the current AASP/CSPA requirements. Because certification requirements may change, participants should consult the current AASP CMPC Candidate Handbook and CSPA guidance when planning and documenting their overall certification experience.
